A family studio.
Script and Scribble has been making personalized paper goods around the same kitchen table since 2006. We draw, proof, and print every piece by hand — one name at a time.
It started with a name.
In 2006, we printed our first notepad — a simple scallop pad with "Ella" across the top in Cormorant italic. It was a birthday gift for a neighbor's daughter. That neighbor told two friends. Those friends told more. Within a year, we were printing notepads and notecards for a hundred families, mostly by word of mouth.
We never set out to build a stationery company. It just happened, the way good things often do — because someone needed a gift, and we knew how to make one.
Still small. On purpose.
We don't outsource. We don't drop-ship. Every piece we sell is designed, proofed, printed, and packed in our studio. The press runs about twenty feet from the kitchen table where we still eat dinner.
We know that sounds old-fashioned. We think that's the point. A personalized notepad should be made by a person. Not a warehouse. Not an algorithm.
"We make personalized paper the way personalized paper used to be made — drawn by a designer, printed by a pressman, addressed to one person."
Three principles
Paper matters
The weight, the texture, the way ink sits on it. A good notecard earns its keep.
Names matter
Personalization isn't a feature. It's the whole product. We print what you type — capitals, accents, and apostrophes.
Small gifts last
Our customers tell us their kids keep these notes. Tape them to mirrors. Tuck them in books. That's who we make these for.
